Wing Memorial Hospital offers comprehensive emergency services around the clock to both children and adults. The hospital's Emergency Department includes board-certified physicians, surgeons, other medical specialists and registered nurses, along with the latest diagnostic equipment. Emergency services are supported by the hospital's laboratory, respiratory and diagnostic imaging departments, which incorporates full digital capabilities for ultrasound and multi-slice computed tomography (CT) scans.
Wing Memorial Hospital is a state designated primary stroke link to stroke service center. Our Emergency Department has advanced telemedicine technology, which allows stroke specialists at major academic medical centers to examine patients in real time through the use of specialized audiovisual equipment.
As a member of UMass Memorial Health Care, Wing Memorial Hospital patients have convenient access to the Duddie Massad Emergency and Trauma Center, the region's only accredited Level One Trauma Center for adults and children. Patients requiring the advanced services of a trauma center can be rapidly transferred by Life Flight air ambulance.
Patients should contact their primary care physician before coming to the Emergency Department unless their situation is life threatening.
